Jeongbalsan-dong Residence Remodeling
정발산동 주택 리모델링
Rediscovering the depth and perspective of the space
Integrating the public spaces in 3-dimensional
The original feature of the house has been changed and many layers covered by each residents’ different treatments are stacked on the old figure.
To reveal and expose the potential of the depth of space and perspectives of its own in this house, we do the vertical connection through applying different materials on the big surfaces not to separate the space and reading them as a mass expanding 3-dimensional way.
Tracing the original space and getting rid of what the past residents had put on it, It is possible to reunite the fragments of the space which is too individual and separated to connect the living space responding to the resident’s lifestyle-enhancing the quality of the living environment.
Integrating the space in horizontal and vertical, the characters of each room have become clear and the rooms are more guaranteed in their privacy.
On the other hand, Kitchen, dining, living room, balconies, and front yard where had been suffered from its inefficient layout, become recovered the spatial sequence allowing visual communication.
Each space recovers its own function as well as achieving flexibility in occupying it. Then residents could experience abundant space and different quality of the space in the same house.
