한양대학교 건축공학과와 뉴욕 컬럼비아대학교 건축대학원에서 공부하였고, 서울의 종합건축사사무소 건원, A.rum 건축사사무소, 뉴욕의 Shinlee Architects, Perkins Eastman 에서의 다양한 프로젝트를 수행하였다. 뉴욕의 TAAL, Inc.를 조항만과 같이 설립하였으며, 2013년 서울의 TAAL Architects로 자리를 옮겨 작업을 이어가고 있다. 강원대학교 겸임교수로 출강하였으며, 서울시 공공건축가이자 TAAL Architects의 대표로서 삶의 다양한 부분이 건축과 연결되는 지점들에 대한 탐구를 계속하고 있다.

Seo Jiyoung obtained a bachelor's degree from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Hanyang University and a master's degree from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP) at Columbia University in New York. She has executed various projects of diverse types and scales at comprehensive architectural firms such as Kunwon Architects in Seoul, A.rum Architects, Shinlee Architects in New York, and Perkins Eastman.

Subsequently, she co-founded TAAL, Inc. in New York with Hangman Zo and relocated to Seoul in 2013 to continue her work under TAAL Architects. Serving as an adjunct professor at Kangwon National University, she continues to explore the intersections between architecture and various aspects of life as a public architect in Seoul and the principal of TAAL Architects.
